IKEA (宜家)’s China service page describes a 14-day visit window after a buyback appointment number is issued; its publication date is not stated.

Store inspection sets the final buyback price
The China Buyback & Resell page describes an app or mini-programme application followed by a store visit. A preliminary quote is sent through SMS and an app notification. Acceptance produces an appointment number; customers then have 14 days to bring fully assembled furniture to the store that issued the quote.
Staff inspect the item at the Returns & Exchanges counter and confirm the final price. Agreement results in store credit. Customers who decline take the furniture away.
Eligible items must be IKEA products, clean, functional, structurally safe and unmodified. The app’s current product list governs eligibility; the service is for private households.
Ordinary returns follow a separate process
The mainland return policy describes refunds through the original payment method rather than a used-furniture valuation. It covers purchases from mainland stores, the website, official app, mini programme and e-commerce stores. Products must be undamaged, unstained, undeformed, unwashed and without signs of use.
The policy requires original purchase evidence, such as a paper receipt or an IKEA Family order number, and an invoice if one was issued. A customer whose invoice has been accounted for or used for a tax deduction must complete the specified electronic-tax confirmation before the return can proceed.
Food, household appliances, specially agreed custom products, and items that have been cut, trimmed or painted are excluded. For eligible online returns, IKEA says it processes the refund within seven days after receiving and checking the goods. Collection from the home is a paid service; customers can also mail returns to the designated store.
| Process | Days | Starting event |
|---|---|---|
| Buyback visit | 14 | Appointment number received |
| Ordinary return | 60 | Goods received |
| IKEA Family return | 365 | Goods received |
China services include spare parts and used goods
On its furniture-life extension page, IKEA China describes small assembly parts available through nearby stores or online customer service. It names screws, nuts and expansion bolts. This is a separate service from taking an assembled item back for valuation.
The page also links to the Circular Hub, where display products, discontinued items and second-hand furniture are offered. Its description therefore includes more than furniture purchased back from a household. It does not supply separate stock totals for those categories.
Other material on the same page describes cleaning or replacing sofa covers, oiling wooden boards, adjusting unstable furniture and attaching floor protectors. These are IKEA’s published care examples. The page does not present measured reductions in waste, customer spending or furniture replacement from those activities.
FY25 buyback figures cover Ingka globally
In its FY25 results release dated 29 January 2026, Ingka Group (英格卡集团) reported sourcing almost 686,500 used IKEA products through Buyback. It also reported 424 stores operating As-Is areas. These are group figures; the release does not provide a China-only total.
The Ingka Group Annual Summary and Sustainability Report FY24, on page 20, reports around 260,400 buyback customers across 28 countries. It says more than 495,000 used IKEA products were repurchased and resold through As-Is areas. This is a group report, not a China-only service result.
That FY24 report page also reports more than 25.8 million free assembly parts supplied to 2.2 million customers. It identifies nuts, bolts, screws and dowels, alongside larger spare parts available in stores or through customer service. These figures describe parts and customers, rather than completed furniture repairs.
For FY24, Ingka reported As-Is areas in 365 stores in FY24, with online As-Is purchasing available through 338 stores in 27 countries. The report’s multi-country totals do not disclose how many of these stores or transactions were in mainland China.
