What the source reports

McKinsey’s May 7, 2025 survey report draws on a nationwide survey completed at the end of 2024, covering more than 17,000 Chinese consumers. One selected finding concerns a narrower base: 81% of nearly 9,700 respondents aware of the stimulus policies reported greater confidence in China’s macroeconomic outlook. The report says the policies’ full impact remained uncertain. This is historical evidence, not a reading of consumer sentiment in October 2026.
The awareness condition and the outcome belong together. The selected finding does not measure whether a respondent plans to buy your product, whether they saw your campaign or whether they completed a purchase. Those would require different questions or business records.
