On October 9, 2026, China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism reported 826 million domestic trips and RMB738.375 billion in domestic travel spending over the seven-day National Day holiday. Its Data Center estimated comparable daily-basis growth versus 2025 of 6.3% for trips and 4.3% for spending. The wording matters: those are not unadjusted changes in the full holiday totals.

The 2025 ministry release covered an eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn holiday, with 888 million domestic trips and RMB809.006 billion in spending. National Day is 国庆节 (Guoqing Jie); the Mid-Autumn Festival is 中秋节 (Zhongqiu Jie). The earlier combined holiday lasted a day longer.
